Historical Walking Tour of Biddeford

This 2 hour walking tour along revitalized Main Street shares the “proud city rising where the water falls”. From its beginning in 1855, your local guide will share historical highlights of this bustling town, once an employer to thousands of new citizens working in the textile mills and a thriving theatre and opera scene, often a second stop on the summer stock route out of Boston.

See the influences and work of Portland architect, John Calvin Stevens while learning of the Franco American immigration and their influence on the community. You’ll stroll along the River Walk, learn of the 19th century ship building, ending with a spectacular view of scenic, Biddeford Falls, and when possible, we will finish with a delicious local ice cream!

Maine History Tours donates $1 from the sale of each ticket to a Maine non-profit whose primary purpose is the preservation of history and education.
