PRELUDE special: An historic walk with hot ciders & snacks
Special for Prelude!
Walk off that delicious lunch with us! Enjoy this festive walking tour with local guides sharing how Kennebunkport came to be the thriving community it is today, including a visit to an historic sea captain’s home for hot ciders and snacks.
Your walking tour will start at Dock Square where you will begin your step back in time and see Kennebunkport as the historic fishing village and booming shipbuilding town it once was. You will stroll along Maine Street festivities and weave your way past the homes of shipbuilders, merchants, philanthropists and famous artists of the 18th and 19th century, decorated for the holidays, while learning their stories.
From the original Native American settlers to the present day, you will hear the highlights of greater Kennebunkport’s people, places, resources, and accomplishments.
After this short walk, we will finish at a sea captain’s home, open to us and serving hot drinks. There may be a market opened up in their accompanying barn to visit after the tour.
